5 tips to start 2021 off right

There's no doubt that we're ready for a new year, a fresh start, and scheduling things to look forward to. Positive things are incoming! We've compiled a list of ways to ensure you're taking care of yourself, getting outside and setting yourself up for success in the New Year.

1. Schedule in time for self care each week

You and your energy are the most important things you can maintain. You can't pour from an empty cup and in order to show up like the bright light that you are, you need to take care of you! Easy self-care ideas include: getting out in nature every day, taking baths, reading a great book with a cup of tea, lighting a candle and doing some breath work, getting a massage, yoga. 2. Commit to one thing that challenges you. 

Whether that's signing up for a half marathon or buying a ticket to a personal development conference or taking an online course, when you schedule in things that push your limits, you're making the commitment to yourself to grow. Humans need to feel like we're growing in order to be totally satisfied. 

While you're all fired up about the new year and the awesome goals you're going to hit, actually scheduling in something that helps you reach those goals will be a game-changer. 3. Start a mediation practice.

Meditating is one of the best ways to bring about inner peace and a feeling of grounded-ness (what we're calling in for 2021 amiright)? Meditation has been shown to have a whole litany of health benefits. 

Make it easy on yourself and start with just 5-10 minutes per day, either first thing in the morning or right before bed. 

4. Declutter

Give away old gear, clean out your old clumpy wax, get rid of clothes you no longer wear and start with a fresh slate. Visual clutter leads to stress. And less time for playing outside. Simplify your life so that you can give energy to what really matters. 

There's nothing worse than trying to ready for ski season and pulling out tons of jackets and fleece and who-knows-what to only find 3 mis-matched gloves. Get rid of what you no longer need and start fresh!

5. Upgrade the words you tell yourself.

It's 2021. We don't have time to be so hard on ourselves-the world can be hard enough. It's time to stop letting those negative thoughts cement in your brain. It's time to be your own best cheerleader.
